Land & Boat Options
|
These are ultimate surf adventures to one of the last frontiers in Indonesia. Surf the little known Banyak islands, home of reputedly the best right in Indonesia. There are many waves to choose from to suit all levels of surfing: left and right reef breaks, ranging from heavy barrelling to long & cruisy, as well as some punchy beach breaks.
There are three tour options:
1. Boat Charter aboard Sjalina
2. Boat Charter aboard The Dream
3. Land based staying at Baneng Beach Retreat on Simeulue
|
Simeulue (staying at Baneng Island retreat) |
The main feature of Baneng Island Retreat is "uncrowded exclusivity". It is almost
unheard of for more than six guys to be in the water at a time, just you and your mates. We don't
have a Desert Point, Nias or G-Land, so hot surfers wanting to push the
limits and surf the best waves on the planet would be better off
elsewhere.
There are various breaks on the southern tip of the island. One km from your accommodation is Dylan's right, a user friendly, fun, hollow reef break. On the south coast, which picks up all the swell, is a left point and left-right peak. So if Dylan's is too small there are other options. Or if you're keen to explore ,the drive up the north coast is incredible, scattered with bays, headlands and reefs. Waves are still being discovered and you could be part of it. |

Banyaks
|
All the islands south of Simeulue, including Babi and the Banyaks, have waves, and you need to be on a good charter boat to get to them.
Banyaks is home the 'Treasure Island', a classic long and hollow world class right. Nearby the Bay of Pleanty has 3 excellent waves. Plus there's others on given conditions, all very good quality and consistency.
Some of the breaks on this trip have changed since the 2005 earthquake, still our customers regularly report they've had 'the trip of a lifetime'.
