NOTE: The Padang Harbour master requires a photocopy of each traveller’s passport. They will impose a fine for non-compliance. Freeline suggests you take a minimum two (2) copies of your passport.

ITINERARY

Day 1

Arrive in Padang, airport pickup and transfer to harbour. Late afternoon/evening board Aileoita 2 and depart for the islands arriving for your first surf early next morning.

Days 2-11

Surf the various breaks in the Mentawais and enjoy the service provided by Aileoita 2. Work in with your skipper to decide exactly where you want to surf.

Late on day 11 you depart islands for Padang, arriving early Wednesday morning.

Day 12

Arrive in Padang, transfer to airport for connecting flight out.

ABOUT THE BOAT

Design

"Aileoita 02" is an 80' x 16' Indonesian Hardwood boat built in Padang, Sumatra in 2006. It is one the of newest charter boat serving the Mentawai Islands and North Sumatra and it has been custom built specifically for surf charters

Engine

Powered by 2 X 185 hp inboard deisel engines with hydraulic steering, with a cruising speed of 9 knots, up to 10-12 knots

Safety
Equipment

EPIRB, Furuno Radar, Furuno GPS, Compass, VHF Radio, HF/SSB radio, Satelite telephone, all neccessary charts for the region, Life Jackets, Fire Extinguishers, Fire Blanket, First Aid kit.

Cabins

The beds are all very large, and comfortable. There are 10 beds all together, in a total of 5 cabins, and all of them are much larger than the average bed on a charter boat, and well suited for big guys, or couples. 8 of the beds are large enough to accommodate couples very comfortably. Fully AC. 2 x Toilet & shower.

Tenders

17ft fibreglass with 25Hp engine

Equipment

29" tv, with dvd, cd, vcd, mp3 player, a big amplifier, and large BMB concert sized speaker system in the salon, as well as out door speakers on the upper deck.

Photography

At additional cost (US$150pp) you can take home at the end of your trip a CD-ROM with your personal and others surfing photos, grouped by waves, islands, people, sunsets, fishing and general.

Food & Drinks

Plentiful, healthy and filling food included in your charter price, all snacks, soft drinks, bottled water. 3 beers per person per day (extra can be bought before departure)

ABOUT THE CREW

Captain

The crew consists of your captain, a mechanic, chef and 2 deck hands. All are indonesian and have extensve experience working on surf charter boats in this region.
