Another Season Over
Well another Indo surf season is over and the guys (and gals) who weren’t put off by the alarmist and often misleading media reports about the political situation were rewarded with minimal crew in the water and some epic sessions. Check out September issue Australian Surfing World for a sample.

Crew scored waves in Sumatra and West Java and reports from other locations in Indo had similar stories. The election campaigning was fun as most Indonesians were just so happy with their freedom of choice. So it was bad luck or judgement for those who put off their trips or cancelled out.

Next Season
Next year the situation looks to be much more stable and if you’re thinking of an Indo trip remember that where we go is a real long way from Timor and Aceh. Speaking of next year, we have added a yacht charter operating out of Bali with a minimum of 4 and max of 6. The destination is up to the group. Price is reasonable. Let us know if you want more info.

New LosmenThere is now a new losmen in West Java right in front of the main break and is the preferred accommodation for Freeline. Prices We’re keeping prices at 1999 levels for the new season, except when the GST comes into action on July 1 when we have to go along with the Govt. line.

New Video This year Australian Surfing World Magazine organised a semi-pro crew to come to Sumatra with us, complete with camera and video men. The boys were stoked with the quality and quantity of waves they scored and are aiming to make it a regular tour between comps. etc.

Anyway, thanks to excellent footage shot by Mick Waters and our own cameraman ‘Mexican Ray’, who’s been on a couple of previous trips, we have put together a Freeline production called "Rubber Time". It’s available for $25 (including postage), which is refundable if you book a trip. See the attached order form. Get a copy. You won’t be disappointed.

Year 2000 Tour Schedules Our 2000 tour schedules are attached also.

Ok, that’s all the news for now. Good surfing, and safe festive season. We hope to be able to show you first hand the waves on the video.

Catch you all next year....cheers & good surfing....Nev & Stu
