ITINERARY |
Day 1 |
Arrive Monday, Wednesday or Friday in Medan, transfer to hotel for 1 night (breakfast included). |
Day 2 |
Transfer to domestic airport for Merpati flight to Simeulue. Transfer to Baneng Retreat, 20 min from the airport. |
Day 2+ |
There are various surf breaks on the southern tip of Simeulue. Dylans Right is a user friendly, hollow reef break 10 min walk away. On the south coast, 1/2 hr driveaway, is a left point and left-right peak that gets more swell than Dylans, so there's always a wave and you'll be the only ones surfing.
For adventure the drive north up the coast to is a must, there are still waves being discovered. For those who like doing their own thing, motorbikes with board racks can be hired from the camp.
While not surfing, enjoy the beautiful surroundings, explore, fish, snorkel and relax. An speedboat (seats 8) is available for hire at US$50/day (split between all passengers) |
Last Day |
Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday transfer to Simeulue airport for flight to Medan. International flights should be booked for departures after 12.00 midday. Post tour accomodation in Medan can be arranged if required (additional expense). |

ABOUT BANENG ISLAND RETREAT |

Design & Accommodation
|
The retreat is a spacious "A-Frame" double story open-plan house with high ceilings and large screened windows to keep the house cool and comfortable. The interior is decorated with rattan and bamboo furniture and finished off in natural local woodwork.
There is accommodation for six guests, dormitory style on
the second level and two private double rooms on the
lower level for couples. All beds have comfortable spring mattresses, with all linen & mosquitoe nets included. Western-Style bathrooms and toilets.

Meals & Drinks
|
Our chef creates amazing International cuisine, plenty of seafood dishes like prawn, crab,
lobster and fish. We also have imported beef for lasagna,
beef tacos, burritos, pizza and many more surprises.
We also have good vegetarian dishes.
Juices, soft drinks and water is provided. Due to local laws, beer is not available, but you can bring your own duty free spirits.

Activities

Volleyball, table tennis, snorkeling, trekking, mountain
biking, motor bikes with board racks are available for hire (US$25 per day).

Fishing
|
Good range of unfished area's ,we have plenty of
game fish to catch, species include Sailfish, Marlin,
Wahoo, Trevally, Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Coral Trout as well
as Painted Cray's, Mudcrab and Prawns to catch and
eat, all close to shore. We have all fishing equipment
and spear gun's for enthusiasts

Speedboat
|
A speedboat is available for hire to access local surf breaks or go fishing etc. Seats 8 people. US$50 per day (divided among everyone using the boat).

Transport
|
Car that seats 6 for exploring the coastline
of the island (included).
