ABOUT THE BOAT

Design
|
Australian registered 70ft steel ketch rigged motor
built to Lloyd's of London specifications, and NSW
(Australian) 2C Survey, which means the NSW Maritime
Authority has recognized her as a charter vessel built
and fitted to approved safety standards to take passengers
to sea.

Engine
|
Six cylinder Gardner 6LX Diesel.

Power
|
2 generators, a 26KVA and a 20KVA, supplying 240v
AC, 24v DC and 12v DC.

Safety
Equipment
|
16 man life-raft, life jackets, flares, fire fighting
equipment ICOM 710 Radio, EPIRB, Echo Sounder, GPS,
and an extensive medical and first aid kit.

Cabins
|
2 double cabins with one dormitory style cabin in
the aft for four people. All cabins are air-conditioned.
The aft cabin includes a lounge area, complete with
its own TV, and VCD/VD player. The saloon cabin is spacious,
air-conditioned entertaining area with full TV, video,
and VCD/DVD, dinner seating for eight people, and a
great place to escape the equatorial heat. Comprehensive
library with a drinks fridge at hand.

There is a spacious head, with indoor and outdoor
showers.

7.3m tender powered by two 140 Hp Suzuki engines capable of up to 35 knots. |

A wholesome and healthy array of Asian and Western
foods is included in your charter price, as are bottled
water, soft drinks and 8 beers per person per day. If
you have any special dietary needs, please inform us
beforehand so that we can cater accordingly.

ABOUT THE CREW
|
Captain
|
John McGroder is a very experienced surfer, is fluent
in Bahasa Indonesian and has a reputation as being one
of the most experienced and friendly operators in the
Mentawais.
John currently holds a Master Class 4 Skipper's Ticket
for 200 miles off shore, a Marine Engine Driver's Ticket
and a Grade 2 Radio Operators License. He has sailed
all over the world, both working and yacht racing boats
of all shapes and sizes.
John and Belinda McGroder, who own the Barrenjoey,
along with their 2 Indonesian crew, will take you to
the best and most uncrowded surf spots, ensuring you
have a blast!
